The latest addition to the XLIV Saints Collection is this Will Smith game worn jersey. Tagged in the collar 10-48 for the year 2010, and size 48. This jersey was actually used during the 2011 season based on the 5-Year All Gold Captains Patch.
Saints Team Captains first sported this style of patch starting with Offensive 5-year captain Drew Brees and Defensive 5-year captain Will Smith during the Saints Record Breaking 2011 Season. Each gold star located on the patch represents a season as team captain, and the large "C" filled in gold represents the 5th year as a Captain.
2007 was the first season these Captains patches were used in the NFL, so a few different teams had Team Captains wearing All gold Filled 5-year Captain patches starting in the 2011 Season.

This jersey boasts an impressive 8 Team Repairs, possibly the most on any of the Saints jerseys in this collection of Saints jerseys ranging in years from 2006-2014, although the 2007 Scott Fujita jersey has quite a few large repairs as well. In the modern era where players sometimes switch jerseys as often as every game, it is becoming rarer to see this much game use on player jerseys. I believe this jersey was was worn by Will Smith through multiple games, vs the Rams on 10/30 was probably the first game he wore it.

Both photos of Will Smith above, and directly below are from the 10/30/2011 game vs the St Louis Rams. Throughout the month of October, Will Smith wore a pink captains patch for the Breast Cancer Awareness games and switched back to the all Gold patch for this game. If you take a close look at the photo directly above, there is a faint line on the number "1" directly above the captains patch, it is very difficult to photograph and tough to see on some computer monitors. But if you can see it, now compare it to the photo below and you can also see the same faint line on that # "1" on the Smith's right shoulder above the patch.
If you compare the position of the neck shield, it is also a match, with just a small amount of black collar showing through below the NFL shield. With all the team repairs on this jersey, I would hope I could match a repair to a photo, but it appears this may have been the first game of a couple that this jersey was worn in.
Now looking at the other photo of Will Smith posted, 2 photos above, on the opposite shoulder, there looks like there is a small tear between the left shoulder numbers. And looking at the photo posted of that shoulder 3 photos above, you can see on the jersey there is a team repair in that exact spot.
If anyone has any photos of Will Smith wearing a white jersey in the month of November 2011, please share and maybe i can match this jersey to more games. I looked at photos of December 2011 and it appears to be a different jersey as the neck shield is placed even lower with no black collar showing below the shield.
